Taylor Francey is a 23-year-old Bangor native, recent graduate from the University of Maine nursing program, and cancer survivor. After fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia for two and a half years (which is now in remission!), she began to fight the battle of mental health and the stigma attached to it. After being misdiagnosed and mistreated, she was finally diagnosed with Bipolar Type II after two suicide attempts and has begun her road to recovery. Being a nurse and former patient, it is Taylor’s goal to help break the stigmas attached to mental health.
Aside from nursing and writing, Taylor loves geocaching, being with family, travelling, and her family’s three Japanese Chins: Stuart, Timmy, and Mitzi. Her plan for this blog is to write about her story, trials and tribulations, information that has helped her recovery, and raise an overall awareness and get people talking about mental health.
